Evaluation Comments
Un-edited (except for one personal note to Kordell by one teacher)
What did we do today that will help you? What insights will help you get better results and improve?
· Really illustrated a new, practical way of motivating ourselves and our students – focusing more on the results for my customers (students)
· New perspective on teaching through advertising = selling ourselves! Made me want to try harder to be 1 of the 3 teachers in their mental file of “my best teachers”! I like the idea of putting comment/you cans on the walls.
· 1.) Gave lots of ideas on how to improve my program 2.) Was fun! 3.) Very interesting ideas!
· The way things all tied together was helpful for me (being a new teacher) I liked the evaluation idea and the “what’s that?” wall idea.
· Add more to class to set my class apart from others. Ask student for input on what they want.
· I liked the thoughts on separating benefits into logical & emotional. I’m definitely going to use the idea of this sheet (The Awesome Insight Sheet) by having students give feedback through evaluations & posting the quotes of what they said about my class.
· Group activities! - The “what’s that” wall.- Post positive comments on the wall!
· Start/Stop cards were helpful. The team exercises were insightful as to what roles we play in the group and how teams work. That making money instead of personal success seems to be the “end all” kind of makes me sad.
· Feature/Benefits
· A great workshop! The day went so fast. My only wish is we have Kordell back next year.
· Group participation and reinforcement. Headnodders and what my customers (students) want. Reinforce evaluations.
· The “you can” designation offers a unique insight for both the students as well as for me. It offers and promotes a positive outlook.
· I felt involved in each session because I was interested. The only time I looked at the clock was at lunchtime! I liked the “you cans” (I can use) I also like the start/stop - - will help me. Teamwork activities were great for teaching strategies.
· I thought that the Features & Benefits section was helpful for relating class content to the interest of the students.
· The “you cans”. This will help me to market my classes better. This would be a good inservice for other schools.
· “You Can” for my class! Posters for class! Marketing!
· “You Can” technique. - Experience (DRASTIC) - Firststepstraining.com - Favorite teacher and qualities they have . . . these are all ideas to use in my classroom.
· Develop cooperative/teamwork environment though activities (such as bridge building) – Use “you can” to present message/goals of class – Good job - - entertaining & knowledgeable
· The “you can” will help me improve marketing and evaluate current marketing.
· Evaluation card – Ideas & implementations for class
· That we need to have fun. I think we have to rethink the way we teach. One of our better inservices.
· Was able to share ideas with other teachers and relate to other coworkers.
· The “you cans” and “bling” was helpful which helps put things in perspective. Also loved the teamwork stuff.
· Yes, I would recommend this inservice to other schools.
· We learned that “you cans” and the benefits sell your program or class.
· Work on team building activities in a few different aspects.
· Learned to build bridges . . . but couldn’t move a bowling ball J
· Very good program. Got some very good ideas for my classroom.
What do you wish you had gotten more information on? How did Kordell do?
· Kordell was awesome
· Very educational & entertaining. I usually do not enjoy guest speakers at in-services but I sure did today!! J
· Great!
· Kordell was very, very good! I was enthused by his passion for what he does!! Great in-service
· Kordell did great – time flew by
· Great! Very interesting!
· Great job! Very enthusiastic!
· What does corporate America think a good teacher is? The question was asked & never answered (P.S. – Kordell answer now that I understand the question – “Corporate America expects the student to be taught and trained. If the instructor can’t get the student competent then either the teacher is moved into another career path or out the door. . . or the student is cut loose if they can’t learn and “do the job. It is all about concrete results”. )
· I would love to see You Cans for specific subjects. Kordell had good information and was entertaining. Also, some of the conversation was focused on earning money. . .but I am sorry, I think there is more to it than that.
· Kordell did a great job today. Very interesting! Best In-service in 20 years!
· Great
· It would have been better if the concepts could be broken down/assigned to specific subject areas (history, art, etc.)
· As a speaker, Kordell is an entertaining speaker with suggestive concepts and anecdotes which maintain interest and involvement.
· Great job!
· Well
· I enjoyed the presentation
· Kordell is extremely funny and gets the point across.
· How to use this for levels of students that have various, not so great outside lives.
· Good job.
· I wish we could have covered more of how education today is viewed by business people? This was very entertaining and with a lot information!
· What do parents feel are good assets of a good teacher . . . would like to have talked about that. In general that was really good!
· This was my best in service
· Kordell, You are an excellent speaker and you give teachers more options in the classroom!
· Nothing, it was fantastic. Great.
· Nothing. “Slash” Kordell is da man.
· OK
· He covered a lot subjects relative to many of our classes.
